Studio Two Six One is an independent contemporary art gallery in Newton Mearns, Glasgow, showcasing original work by an ever-growing collection of established and emerging artists.
Founded by artist Karin Hepburn in 2022, Studio Two Six One was created as a space where artists, art lovers and the local community could come together.
After more than 30 years working in Art & Design education, alongside developing her own practice as an artist, Karin wanted to create a gallery that felt welcoming and accessible – somewhere people could enjoy discovering art without feeling intimidated by the traditional gallery experience.
Today, Studio Two Six One showcases a carefully curated and continually evolving collection of contemporary artwork, alongside a programme of exhibitions, workshops, classes and creative events.
A graduate of Glasgow School of Art in Printed Textiles, with a PGCE and more than 30 years’ experience teaching Art & Design, Karin has spent her career encouraging creativity in others while continuing to develop her own artistic practice.
Her experience as both an artist and educator shapes the ethos of Studio Two Six One – knowledgeable and professional, but always friendly and approachable.
Karin continues to create her own work while curating exhibitions, discovering new artists and helping customers find artwork they genuinely connect with.
